Is there any chances, to translate in other languages this wonderful game, without using HEX editor? Or all game texts is packed in main exe file?

Right now I don't have any plans for different languages in the game. Maybe some time in the future ;)

Can you please make game strings to be external, stored in txt file (.lang)? If you can make this and an option for font change via GG2setup.exe then localization will not be a problem...for now all we can do is hexing your awesome game, and this...is not awesome.

Can you please reply to me? I really want to make a russian translation without hexing (it's hard and causes bugs), so will you think about making game strings external? I understand that this is not first priority right now, but afterall this is not hard thing to do, is it?

Actually it is ^^
The way dialogue is handeled in the game would require a complete rewrite. All text would have been rearranged etc. And I mean all dialogues in the entire game including quest messages in the pause menu!

I would be a lot of work for me and I don't have so much time right now.

Yes, i know you are busy with new patch coming out, and i'm really gratefull to you for that ;)
I just hope you'll add this later, when you'll have some free time.

Yet i still don't get it, it's basically rewriting "showdialog(player,icon,"blahblahblah")" into "showdialog(player,icon,readstring_from_file(DIALOG_STRING[blah])".
By the way, what language do you use? C?

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. The game was not programmed in any language as I used a program called Multimedia Fusion 2 to make the game. MMF2 offers a wide set of script-based events and actions and that is how GG2 is made of. Almost everything in the game is handeled global EXCEPT the area specific events such as dialogues. That means I would have to go through each section of the game that contains any dialogue and change the scripts by hand one at a time since all scripts are more or less different.

Believe me, it would be a lot of work. And since there are thousands of lines of text in the game, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Sorry.

But maybe it can be translated with HEX editors, or some specific tools? Is there any way to make translation? Just give me hint =)

Or do you need offsets? I doubt Blue66 knows them since he didn't code the game himself.
