Saving

Saving

Good game.

But how does the save game feature work? I can use save teriminals and load my last save after dying. But on the title screen, the "Load game" line is all grayed out no matter what  If I start a new game, I can see my former saved game in the slot I chose, so the slot's not empty. Is that intentional?

Hi there and welcome to the forum :)

This is another random glitch that happens sometimes. It's hard for me to figure out what may cause this. But if that happens to you, simply leave the main menu by pressing the <ALT FIRE> or <MEDIKIT> button. After the menu has closed and you see the title image, open the menu again and the load button should appear correctly.

That menu trick doesn't work for me, the 'Load Game' display still refuses to show up :(

Have you moved the save files from the .zip after downloading? I didn't do this the first time, and before I quit I realized that it most likely will not save my progress so far. Lo and behold, there was no save when i tried to load up again.

So just move the files from the .zip you downloaded and put them on your desktop or any other folder you so choose. Then start up the game from that folder instead of the .zip file.

Next, try to save at the first terminal you come across - exit the game - and try starting it again just to make sure it saved correctly. That way you do not go too far into the game for nothing :)

That wasn't the problem as the save files were there, just not accessible via 'Load Game'
I started a new game, saved it at the earliest terminal and then went back to the menu to see if that would help, and it did.

So what exactly did you do to solve your problem? Just save at the first terminal you came across or unload the .zip file?

Seeing as I have no idea why you're talking about a .zip file I guess I didn't do that.
I just started a new game, saved that new game and that made the 'Load Game' option stop being grey so i could load my old game.
