So, here is how the new endless mode works for Scythe (this is additional to the normal survivor rescue missions!):
In the mall, you talk to a new NPC that gives you a random mission.
This mission has a level. It starts out with level 1 and every time you complete a mission, the level increases by 1.
The random mission level will be displayed at all times as long as you are in the mall or on one of these random missions.
You step into the teleporter.
A random mission will be generated out of 30 possible segments.
The level of your mission indicates how many of those segments you have to complete until your mission is over. So on level 1, you have to run through one segment. On mission level 2, you have to complete two segments and so on.
At the end of each segment is a teleporter. It leads you to the next segment, or if you have completed all necessary segments, it will lead you back to the mall.
Here you can talk to the NPC again to get a random reward, increase mission level and get ready to start a next mission.
This means that at first you think it's pretty easy to run through the segments, but after a while the missions become longer and longer until the player gets to his limit on what he is able to beat in one run. There are no save points on mission segments!
How's that?
